What is the Qibla?
The Qibla (قبلة) is the direction Muslims face during Salah (prayer). It points toward the Masjid al-Haram in Mecca, Saudi Arabia — specifically toward the Kaaba, the cubic structure at the centre of the mosque that Muslims consider the house of Allah.
Facing the Qibla is a condition (shart) for the validity of prayer. If you're unsure of the direction, you must make a genuine effort to determine it. Using a Qibla finder tool on your phone or computer fulfils this obligation.
How accurate is this finder?
This tool uses your GPS coordinates with the Aladhan API to calculate the great-circle bearing from your location to the Kaaba (21.4225° N, 39.8262° E). It's accurate to within a fraction of a degree — far more precise than any physical compass guide.
